Crystal Care Guide

🌿 Crystal Care Guide

Welcome to our Crystal Care Guide at Blooming Crystals! Taking good care of your crystals helps them stay beautiful, energised, and meaningful for you. Below you’ll find tips on how to cleanse, charge, and store your crystals — plus a special section on crystals that shouldn’t get wet.

🧼 How to Cleanse Your Crystals

Crystals can pick up energy over time, and cleansing them helps reset them and refresh their natural vibration. Here are some gentle, effective methods:

  • Smudging: Pass your crystal through smoke from sage, palo santo or incense while setting your intention.

  • Full moon / sun bath: Place your crystal in moonlight or gentle sunlight for a few hours (but see the “no sunlight” warnings below).

  • Sound: Ring a singing bowl, chime or use a tuning fork near your crystal.

  • Running water (safe stones only): Hold your crystal under running water for a moment, imagine it being rinsed of any stuck energy, then dry it thoroughly.

⚡ How to Charge Your Crystals

After cleansing, you can charge your crystals so they carry stronger energy for your intention. Try these methods:

  • Sit your crystal on a group of clear quartz or selenite overnight.

  • Hold the crystal in your hand, focus your breath and visualise your intention flowing into it.

  • Leave the crystal on a windowsill during a full moon so it absorbs lunar energy.

📦 How to Store & Wear Your Crystals

  • Keep crystals out of direct contact with harsh chemicals (like cleaning sprays) and extreme temperatures.

  • If you wear crystal jewellery, remove it before showering, swimming or vigorous activity (unless you’re sure the piece is water safe).

  • Store smaller stones in soft pouches or lined boxes to prevent scratches. Larger pieces can make great display items — just pick a spot away from full sunlight if the colour might fade.

🚫 Crystals That Shouldn’t Get Wet

Some crystals are water‑sensitive and can crack, fade, dissolve or release harmful elements when exposed to water or left wet. These are especially prone to damage if soaked or placed in salt water. Experts suggest crystals with hardness under about 5 on the Mohs scale or containing iron or copper may be at risk.

Here are some common examples of crystals you should keep dry or only briefly rinse and then dry immediately:

  • Selenite & Satin Spar (very soft and can dissolve)

  • Malachite (may release toxic fumes when wet)

  • Azurite & Lepidolite & Fluorite (soft, porous or iron/copper bearing)

  • Opal & Hematite (may change or rust in water)

Tip: If you’re unsure whether a stone is water safe, stick to methods like smudging or moon‑charging instead of submerging it.

📝 Realistic Care Notes

  • Because crystals are natural, each one is unique — minor chips, colour variations or inclusions do not mean it’s damaged. They’re part of the character.

  • For our handmade items (like clay‑beaded bracelets, silicone beaded pens/keychains), be aware that slight differences in bead colour or layout may occur due to materials and hand‑crafting.

  • Display colours may vary slightly based on your screen settings — what you receive may look a bit different.

🌙 A Gentle Spiritual Reminder

Crystals are wonderful tools for inspiration, reflection and energetic support — but they are not substitutes for medical, psychological or professional advice. Always trust your instincts, take care of your well‑being and seek expert help where needed.
